Gerd Schenkel

Gerd has devoted his career to making a positive impact. With a focus on robotics, he earned his Engineering degree from some of the world’s most prestigious universities, including the University of Stuttgart, Northwestern University in Evanston, and the University of Sydney. His academic work in this field resulted in the publication of several frequently-cited articles.

After completing his studies, Gerd joined the Boston Consulting Group, where he worked in Sydney, Los Angeles, and New York, advising some of the world’s most successful organisations, including Pfizer, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and IBM.

During this time, he also earned an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Gerd then turned his attention to executive leadership roles in financial services and telecommunications, where he led several significant digital business initiatives. These included the launch of UBank for National Australia Bank, the launch of Telstra Digital and Belong for Telstra, and the growth agenda for Tyro Payments (ASX.TYR) where he was CEO. He also served as the Chair of Credit Clear, an ASX-listed fin-tech (ASX.CCR).

In recent years, he has worked as a global management consultant specializing in digital and technology opportunities, most recently as a partner for Kearney.

He is also a non-executive Director of Helia (ASX.HLI), Australia’s leading mortgage insurer.

Gerd’s current interests include Artificial Intelligence agents’ potential and impact in business, life and society

Monty Hamilton

Monty Hamilton is Senior Vice President, Global Telecom Solutions at TELUS International (NYSE:TIXT). Monty has over 25 years’ of successful results in advising, designing, building, transforming and operating of digital businesses at iconic organisations in Australia and Canada.

Monty’s career highlights include co-founding of UBank - National Australia Bank's direct bank, consulting with Australia Post, co-founding of Belong - Telstra's direct telco business, the large-scale digital transformation of Telstra, PwC as Partner leading Digital Transformation and in 2019 recently joining the executive team of TELUS and TELUS International.

Hamilton operates on the belief that digital transformation is industry agnostic and driven by people and culture first - then enabled by technology and connectivity. He is passionate and actively involved in indigenous reconciliation and regular contributor at leading business and digital conferences.
